The placard was intended to encourage the panicked English population during the threat of Nazi air raids. The crown pictured on the top of the poster was meant to give the impression of an order by the king for his subjects to be serene.<\/p><p>With the threat of World War III arising on many and various fronts, King Jesus is telling us to <em>keep calm<\/em> just as He told His disciples to not be fearful when He stilled the storm. <em>Philippians 4:4-8 <\/em>shows us how to <em>keep calm<\/em>.<\/p><p><strong>C<\/strong>elebrate \u2013 <em>\u201c<strong>Rejoice<\/strong> in the Lord always\u201d (verse 4).<\/em><\/p><p>A Christian\u2019s <em>celebration<\/em> is centered <strong><em>\u201cin\u201d<\/em><\/strong> Jesus.\u00a0 We worship Him even when we are troubled.\u00a0 The Bible says, <em>\u201cIn everything give thanks; for this is will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you (1 Thessalonians 5:18)<\/em>.<\/p><p><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p><p><strong>A<\/strong>sk \u2013 <em>\u201c\u2026let your<strong> requests<\/strong> be made known to God\u201d (verse 6d). <\/em><\/p><p>Jesus said, <em>\u201cAsk, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you\u201d (Matthew 7:7)<\/em>.<\/p><p><strong>L<\/strong>ay \u2013 <em>\u201c\u2026and the <strong>peace <\/strong>of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus\u201d (verses 7c).\u00a0 <\/em><\/p><p>The word for <strong><em>\u201cpeace\u201d <\/em><\/strong>means <strong><em>\u201crest\u201d<\/em><\/strong>. Our loving Shepherd <em>\u201clets me <strong>lie down<\/strong> in green pastures;<\/em><\/p><p><em>he leads me beside quiet waters\u201d (Psalm 23:2). <\/em>What a beautiful picture of peace. <strong>Lay down<\/strong> in the Lord\u2019s contentment.<\/p><p><strong>M<\/strong>editate \u2013 <em>\u201cFinally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy \u2013 <strong>meditate on these things<\/strong>\u201d (verse 8).<\/em><\/p><p>Focus on God and His Word.
